  1. Praj Industries has got an order from Godavari Biorefineries Limited (GBL) in Karnataka for the purpose of  setting up a syrup-based ethanol plant with the largest capacity in India. Thus,  now Praj will expand the existing ethanol manufacturing capacity of GBL to 600 Kilo liters per day using sugarcane syrup. When it would be commissioned, it would become largest capacity syrup based ethanol plant in India.
  2. From ICAR (Indian Council for  Agricultural Research), a team of  scientists has been awarded for excellence in the dissemination of  agricultural practices and technologies  from lab to farm. The  award was given by agriculture today, which is a renowned agriculture magazine of India. Their  work has been given recognition for  improving livelihood and subsistence production systems in various remote areas like Leh.
  3. Thomas Cook Ltd of India has recently inaugurated its first Gold  Circle Partner Franchise outlet in Jammu with a  focus to leverage the  growth potential for the region. The outlet is set up at Jammu's Bahu Plaza. 
  4. Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd will put in fresh investments to the tune of Rs. 3000 crores on its electric vehicles business in next years. It is currently working on developing an EV platform by combining its operations around  the  globe.
  5. Amazon India has announced the launch of the programme  'Mentor Connect'. Its main focus will be to accelerate the  growth of startups and emerging brand owners enrolled under its Amazon Launchpad initiative.
  6. In a study by IIT Bombay, it  was revealed that several banks, including SBI, have been imposing excessive charges on certain services provided to poor  persons having zero  balance or BSBDA (Basic Savings Bank Deposit Accounts)
  7. A nutraceutical  startup, Fitday, plans to invest Rs 60 crores to expand  its  presence across the country in the span of next two years. It  will be setting up 50 brick and mortar stores pan India by 2023 while increasing its online presence as well. 
  8. Sonu Sood, a Bollywood actor, has been recently made the brand ambassador for the anti-coronavirus vaccination programme of Punjab. Amarinder Singh, the  Punjab Chief Minister made the announcement on 11 April 2021.
  9. Tata Motors Ltd. will be collaborating with its dealers to build vehicle scrapyards in Howrah, Karnal, Hyderabad and Mumbai. The company will be providing technical know-how and expertise for the vehicle dismantling units.
  10. CPP Investments (Canada Pension Plan Investment Board) and RMZ Corp., which is Bengaluru-based, have announced a joint venture, with the Canadian fund investing $210 million.
